Client and her child have been subjected to family violence. Due to a recent incident of family violence client was made homeless. Client placed her child in care of other family whilst sleeping in her car and working toward resolving her need for safe affordable housing. Client and her child have had unstable housing since the flood event of 2022 in the Northern Rivers NSW, client's rental property was impacted, client was not able to return. Client has recently been approved a private rental, the first stable housing opportunity since the floods. Client is low-income and is not able to afford to furnish the rental. Client has managed to find items offered free in the area however requires household items that she has not been able to source. Client child is enrolled at a new school in the area they have moved to. Assistance with furniture, groceries and fuel would assist the client greatly in establishing her tenancy and allow time to focus on her and her child's wellbeing.
