Recipient story

Young Indigenous man rebuilding life post-care needs food vouchers and a bike to attend appointments and play basketball.
GIVIT
First Nations Support
This young Indigenous man has spent much of his youth moving in and out of out-of-home care and residential facilities. He has recently returned to community and is actively working to rebuild his life and establish stability. He is currently living in transitional accommodation and managing on a very limited income.

A major barrier he faces is lack of transport, which has made it difficult to attend medical appointments and engage in positive, pro-social activities. He enjoys playing basketball, which supports his physical health, mental wellbeing, and social connection. Access to a push bike, helmet, and lock would provide safe and reliable transport, increasing his independence and ability to stay connected to services and community.

Food vouchers would also be greatly appreciated to assist with stocking his cupboards as he settles into accommodation. This practical support would ease immediate financial stress and support his wellbeing during this important transition.
