Resident and husband live on the farm. CFA and DEECA used fire suppression machinery, damaging fencing and back burnt nearly costing the residents their home. Residents were advised all damaged would be compensated.
Quote for damages is $33,000 DEECA has offered a $9000 settlement. Resident will need to commence legal proceeding adding additional final strain and she is currently paying the additional cost of having her animals agisted due to the damage to the fencing, pastures and feed. Resident is being forced to accept the settlement with a notation further action can be taken as she needs the funds to do the repairs prior to the animals being able to be returned. 3 adults living at the property.
