Elderly couple who lost everything in the 2026 bushfires and were substantially under-insured. They not only lost their home but their fencing, orchard, machinery sheds and vehicles. They have been suffering quite badly with mental health related stresses and are trying hard to keep a positive mindset and make progress however, every little setback and extra pressure has a huge impact and this is exacerbated by the financial burden they are experiencing.

It is often long after the fires where major ongoing problems arise and they are currently in desperate need of assistance with the eradication of weeds as the fires profoundly affect soil by altering its physical, chemical, and biological properties, leading to nutrient loss, water repellency, and higher erosion risks.

They also need to replace a fire pump which is a requirement of the CFA and need a STARLINK internet system to ensure they have internet and phone connection as an imperative health and safety measure.
