I am writing to request assistance for a family of six experiencing ongoing hardship since the Lismore floods. Their home was affected, and despite their efforts to purchase it back and relocate it to safer land, they have been unable to find affordable land.
The family is currently living in the deceased mother’s home, where they have no reliable water supply. As they are not renting and have no proof of ownership, they cannot have the water connected. This makes basic needs such as bathing the children, washing clothes and maintaining hygiene extremely difficult.
Their youngest child has failure to thrive and requires tube feeding, while their other three children have Autism and ADHD. The children are struggling with their living conditions and face a bus journey of over an hour each way to school. The family also struggles to attend essential medical and therapy appointments due to transport difficulties.
Vouchers for groceries, fuel, clothing, hygiene products needed.
