Financial assistance is requested for removalist costs for a Pod Village resident who was significantly impacted by the 2022 Northern Rivers floods and was forced to leave her home due to flood damage. Following the disaster, she moved between several emergency accommodation hotels before being placed in the Ballina Pod Village, where she has lived for the past two years.
She has recently been offered a long-term social housing property, which is an important step toward stable housing after a prolonged period of displacement. She has also been given permission to take the furniture and whitegoods she has been using in the pods to help establish her new home.
Due to ongoing financial hardship following years in temporary accommodation, she cannot afford the cost of a removalist. Funding is requested to assist with removalist costs so she can safely move these essential household items and successfully transition into stable housing.
