Our service works with vulnerable families that are at risk of entering the Child Protection system. We are finding an increasing number of families that are not able to meet the basic needs of themselves and their children. We try to support families as best as we can with very little brokerage available. This trend has been occurring over the past few months, with families not able to purchase sufficient food, petrol and sometimes medication. With the ongoing housing issues and increase in virtually everything, our families are at breaking point. We rely on the services and charities in our area, but sometimes these services are also stretched to their capacity. We have noticed the significant amount of stress this place on families and ultimately to the children. The families we work with are marginalised and have many stressors. We would like to ask your organisation if you can provide some additional food and petrol vouchers to support these vulnerable families.
