68 year old woman only eats one meal a day.

68 year old proud Aboriginal woman lives on a single pension and as a result only eats once a day – mostly vegetarian with some chicken and eggs. Recently retired from a career as a comedy writer, she has had and continues to have several small strokes which affect her mobility, hand-eye coordination, balance and brain function (White Matter Disease). She has epilepsy, diabetes and high blood pressure and requires regular podiatry due to the diabetes affecting her feet. Due to these conditions, she is unable to drive and no longer has a car.
There is no travel allocation in her NDIS plan nor is it available in her My Aged Care package. She lives 2.8km out of her small town, 28.2km from specialist medical services, and 39.3km from major supermarkets.
Coles does not deliver in her regional area. For any other supplies, pharmaceuticals, doctor appointments, visiting her husband in the nursing home weekly, podiatrist visits etc she must pay for a private driving service.
