Recipient story

Mother and Son seeking support whilst in hospital
Domestic & Family Violence
Other hardship(s)
This Mother and Son have been spending many weeks at the hospital receiving medical care for a rare and debilitating disease. Without a clear finish date, they are not sure how much longer they will need to remain and are struggling to access basic needs that would help their long stay at the hospital more comfortable after covering large expenses of travel to the hospital.

The hospital environment and lack of freedom is impacting on mum's mental health as a victim survivor of domestic and family violence. Your support will give her some autonomy and allow her to provide care and comfort to her son as he continues to receive treatment by allowing access to groceries and toiletries that will make their stay more comfortable.

How it's helped before

I am writing to personally thank 'GIVIT' for a generous 'Simply Groceries eGift card' voucher that I was gifted, with $100 worth of essential spending money for my family & I to utilise at our own discretion. I can happily report this donation has assisted the purchase of a basic, solo, wifi security camera, with the excess going toward food for my teenage daughter who is currently taken on responsibilities around our home while I recover in a rehabilitation centre. Thank you for this kind gesture, as it has helped to improve security measures around our home & support my daughter to purchase daily essential items such as groceries, basic hygiene & cleaning products.

Thank you for your generous gesture & much needed support GIVIT.
