I am supporting a single mother of three children who recently had to relocate due to unsuitable and unsafe housing conditions. The previous property presented ongoing concerns that impacted the health and wellbeing of them, and the decision to move was made to ensure their safety and stability. The relocation was urgent, and as a result, the family was unable to retain several essential household items, including a couch. Currently, the children do not have appropriate seating in the home and are sitting and resting on the floor. This has made it difficult for the family to establish a sense of normalcy and comfort in their new environment. A couch would provide more than just furniture, it would create a safe and comfortable space for the children to relax, complete homework, and spend time together as a family. After experiencing instability, having basic household items is critical to helping them settle, feel secure, and continue rebuilding their lives.
