68 year old male experiencing long term homelessness/sleeping rough after a health incident during retirement required him to have emergency surgery and an extended stay in hospital caused him to lose his private rental as the medical bills caused financial strain. This male has been on the social housing wait list for over 20 years and has been trying to support his physical & mental health while staying in temporary accommodation, however is still financially struggling to afford the cost of living on an aged pension. The male has now been offered permanent housing through NSW Homes and needs assistance furnishing and making his new property comfortable to reside in.
