Over the past year, she has faced significant mental health challenges, including distressing auditory hallucinations that contributed to her offending behaviour and ultimately led to her first experience of imprisonment. During this time, she struggled without consistent access to the mental health support, counselling, and medication she desperately needed.
As she prepares for release, she is determined to rebuild her life, prioritise her mental wellbeing, and work towards being the healthy, stable parent her children deserve. She has shown remarkable resilience and a genuine commitment to recovery despite the many challenges she has faced.
Her family will provide immediate support upon her release, as there are ongoing concerns regarding her mental health and a risk of self-harm. However, they will not be able to meet all her needs, and she requires additional support from services and the community.
