2025 Tropical Cyclone Alfred
Client is a senior Indigenous woman who was severely impacted by the 2022 floods and is currently experiencing significant financial hardship. She is also the primary carer for her elderly friend, who lives with her and has physical disabilities that greatly affect his mobility. Both residents continue to experience severe PTSD as a result of the flood event, along with ongoing social anxiety that makes it extremely difficult for them to leave their home or seek support independently. Their home is their primary place of safety, stability, and emotional security. Recent severe weather has caused further impacts to the property, increasing distress and compromising their sense of safety and comfort within the home. Financial assistance is urgently needed to complete essential repairs so they can continue living in a secure and stable environment that supports their physical and emotional wellbeing.
