Mum of 4 young children fled a long term DV relationship with nothing but the clothes on their backs, and due to a lack of housing availability found themselves living in a tent in her sister's backyard.
The sister herself is a family of 7 living in a 3 bedroom / 1 bathroom home, so the additional 5 family members and a long FNQ wet season was hard for all involved.
After 10 months she has secured a home for the family but has no furniture to put in it.
They received the keys 2 days ago and are sleeping on blow up mattresses and using a camping fridge that has limited space.
She requires 3 single beds and mattresses, a fridge and a washing machine as a matter of urgency.
Any support for this mum who is trying her hardest to provide a safe home for her children will be appreciated.
