Elderly lady significantly impacted by the 2022 SEQ Floods and Storms, with the impacts further compounded by TC Alfred. She is 79 years old and has experienced an extended and complex recovery, facing multiple barriers to returning home.
Due to significant mould contamination within the property, she has been living in a caravan park while essential repairs are progressed. Her recovery has also been complicated by a prolonged neighbour dispute and faulty building works, resulting in ongoing delays, additional stress, and increased costs.
After exhausting available disaster recovery funding on essential structural repairs, a funding shortfall remains to complete the outstanding works required to return the home to a safe, healthy and habitable condition.
Additional support through GIVIT would enable the remaining repairs to be completed, allowing the applicant to leave temporary accommodation and safely return to her home.
