This family consists of a mother living with a physical disability and her teenage son, who has significant trauma history, chronic pain, and long‑term social isolation. Their experiences have been shaped by years of instability, domestic violence, and very limited connection with community supports, leaving them without the resources needed to build stability, independence, and safety.
For much of the son’s life, he has remained almost entirely inside the home, only leaving for essential appointments. His complex trauma, ADHD, C‑PTSD, and functional neurological symptoms contribute to severe withdrawal, ongoing somatic pain, and difficulty engaging with others. He often presents much younger than his chronological age and depends heavily on his mother for communication, daily functioning, and navigating the outside world.
