She has been in Australia for three years and separated from her ex-partner for a year. This is because she was unable to afford adequate legal representation to fight for more custody in court.
She receives limited income from Job Seeker and casual work and receives no child support payments. This has made it difficult to afford essential household appliances and expenses such as food to feed her children. She wishes to have 50/50 shared custody of her children, although legal fees are causing additional financial stress. To spend more time with her children, she requires support to purchase a fridge and microwave, which are essential to enable her children to stay with her.
