Funding is requested to support a young person currently residing in supported accommodation to attend a five-day school holiday adventure camp in December 2026.
The young person has recently expressed a strong desire for some time away from her current environment and opportunities to have space for herself. She would benefit from a safe, structured and positive experience where she can participate in activities independently, connect with other young people and enjoy time away during the school holidays.
The five-day Summer Holiday Camp provides supervised accommodation, meals and outdoor activities including canoeing, rock climbing, archery, team challenges, campfires and group activities. The program focuses on building confidence, independence, resilience, teamwork and positive social connections.
Supporting the young person to attend would provide a meaningful opportunity for respite, recreation and personal development within a safe and professionally supervised environment.
Funding would provide the young person with an opportunity to have some much-needed individual space during the school holidays, participate in positive experiences outside of her current living environment, build confidence and independence, and develop positive connections with peers.
