Grocery Voucher - $20

Footscray VIC 3011

Grocery vouchers to support with facilitating cooking groups and 1:1 functional assessments for consumers during their admission. This has many positive benefits for their recovery and is a key role of the OT team here. Grocery vouchers allow us to continue running these cooking programs on the ward, which are a favourite of many consumers.

Recipient story

Request for donations for womens inpatient unit
GIVIT
Domestic & Family Violence
Our Psychiatric Unit is a 16-bed unit for women and gender diverse individuals. This is an acute mental health unit, support individuals who are struggling with their mental health and have usually experienced trauma, domestic violence, homelessness and are missing their kids and family environment. We recognise that being admitted to an inpatient unit can be scary and overwhelming, particularly for those people who have experienced trauma and violence.

Being admitted in an inpatient ward is an overwhelming and emotional time for some of the women on the ward. We aim to support recovery through providing meaningful and therapeutic activities for consumers. We require resources to provide cooking, sensory, creative crafts, exercise, self care and so much more to consumers while admitted.

We are also moving to a new ward that has zero resources, increasing the risk of escalating and potentially harmful behaviours occurring on the ward.
