We desperately need Kmart Vouchers for purchase of blankets.
We're joining with another agency to sponsor another poor family of Syrian refugees who have been sheltering in Lebanon since the war broke out in Syria. They have lived in tents in the dessert country, trying to stay under the radar as Lebanon continually forces Syrians to go back home now that Asaad has been removed. Lebanese forces bulldoze the tents, everything is lost again, and these people run for their lives, again. But they have no homes in Syria. They can't go back to Syria without fear of death, prison and/or persecution, because they fled before the war when Syrian men were required to fight in the national army for Asaad or in ISIS.
Along with this UN approved family, the steady intake of Congolese refugees approved by the UN from camps in Africa continues in our twin cities, including an African family of nine who arrived with only one medium suitcase. This indicates they have no coats and other warm items.
