Single mother and grandmother with a disability facing financial hardship and currently financially supporting her daughter.
GIVIT
A single mother and grandmother with psychosocial disabilities and multiple physical health conditions, one of which severely limits their mobility, which impacts on their ability to leave the house, contributing to increasing social isolation. They receive the Disability Support Pension and have no informal support network.
Additionally, due to significant family circumstances, they are currently providing ongoing assistance to ensure their daughter and grandchildren have food and stable housing. This responsibly combined with their health challenges, is resulting in considerable financial and emotional hardship.
Due to moving into shared house, belongings needed to be stored in a storage unit costing $650 per month and fees increase every 6 months.
Assistance is required by Queens of Clutter to assist with decluttering storage unit which will allow the storage unit to be cleared, and the fortnightly fees will be able to be reallocated to client and her family.
