48 year old single mum is courageously managing multiple serious health conditions, including kidney failure requiring dialysis three times a week, diabetes, high blood pressure, Hepatitis B and chronic pain. After each dialysis session she feels weak and nauseous, needing time to recover. She relies on a disability pension, receives no NDIS support, and must pay for all her medications herself. Her limited income doesn’t cover rent and ongoing medical costs. With no beds in the home, this devoted mum sleeps on the couch while her daughter sleeps on the floor. She also struggles to maintain their large yard, having to pay for mowing as she does not have a lawn mower. Unable to work due to her health, she is doing her best to care for herself and her child under incredibly difficult circumstances. Any support for this brave family would make a meaningful difference.
