Base & Mattress - Double

I began supporting this client in December 2025. She is an Aboriginal woman with an intellectual disability, significant complex trauma, and severe mental health challenges that have lead to many hospitalisations. She has experienced prolonged homelessness and survived domestic and family violence, including physical, emotional, and financial abuse.

She is currently living in boarding‑house style accommodation, which is not safe or suitable for her long‑term wellbeing. She is searching for a safer home in the Lismore area, however high housing demand and limited affordability make this extremely difficult on a Disability Support Pension, she has no family support and experiences severe isolation and loneliness.

Her bed base is broken and bent, and the mattress has exposed springs, causing pain and worsening existing back issues. Despite her circumstances, she is kind, generous, she loves her cats and they are her main source of comfort and support.
