Recipient story

Young person experienced DFV, now living with aunty. Help her re-engage with soccer again to positively impact her wellbeing
First Nations Support
Domestic & Family Violence
This young person has experienced significant challenges, having come from a domestic violence environment and now living in the care of her aunty to ensure her safety and stability. These changes have disrupted her sense of routine, connection, and belonging during an important stage of her development.

Re-engaging in soccer is an important step for her wellbeing. It provides not only physical activity, but also a safe space to rebuild confidence, form positive peer connections, and feel a sense of normality again. Being part of a team gives her structure, support, and an outlet to process her experiences in a healthy way.

However, due to financial pressures within the household, her aunty is unable to support her return to the sport at this time. Without assistance, she risks further disconnection from her peers and missing out on an opportunity that could positively impact her emotional and social wellbeing.
