This young person, Jane (pseudonym) (18F), has been living in poverty for most of her life. Until 2025, Jane and her family had been homeless for 10 years (at least). Jane missed most of her education, as the family had to move locations countless times. When she did attend school, Jane struggled and experienced a great deal of bullying. Jane has experienced significant domestic violence with a past boyfriend. Jane works hard to support her parents and boyfriend, none of whom have employment. Her father has a disabling injury and her mother has significant mental health issues. Jane is kind and tries extremely hard to navigate complex systems and support her families needs. Jane is the most capable member of the family, often the one reaching out to organise groceries and other supports.
