Recipient story

A 16 year old Indigenous young woman experiencing homelessness needs support with furniture and grocery vouchers.
First Nations Support
Other hardship(s)
This young woman is currently transitioning from an overcrowded family home into supported accommodation. While living at home, she did not have access to her own bed and was sleeping on a couch, all while trying to complete Year 12 and maintain part-time employment.

She is now taking a positive step toward independence and stability but requires practical support to successfully establish her new living environment. As she moves into transitional accommodation, she has very limited financial capacity and lacks essential materials items such as clothing and bedding.

Assistance will help this young person maintain her education, continue working, and build a stable and independent future.

How it's helped before

I am writing to personally thank 'GIVIT' for a generous 'Simply Groceries eGift card' voucher that I was gifted, with $100 worth of essential spending money for my family & I to utilise at our own discretion. I can happily report this donation has assisted the purchase of a basic, solo, wifi security camera, with the excess going toward food for my teenage daughter who is currently taken on responsibilities around our home while I recover in a rehabilitation centre. Thank you for this kind gesture, as it has helped to improve security measures around our home & support my daughter to purchase daily essential items such as groceries, basic hygiene & cleaning products.

Thank you for your generous gesture & much needed support GIVIT.
