Young mum preparing for second child and surgery for stage 1 cancer after birth. In financial hardship due to illness.
This young mum has a 3-year-old child and is almost due her second child. She has been diagnosed with stage 1 cancer and will need surgery after she has given birth in June. She is feeling quite exhausted and overwhelmed with having to attend so many medical appointments, raising her first child, being pregnant, the current cost of living and trying to prepare her family with everything they need while she is away in hospital giving birth and then having her surgery, plus the recovery period after. She is not currently working & lives in a public housing house with her 3-year-old. Her partner (father of second baby), has moved in with her to take over caring for both children while she is having her surgery. He has had to stop working for a few months so he can be there for her & the children during her recovery period. Mum is grateful for this but this has caused them to fall into financial hardship. They are all relying on her Centrelink income only currently which is very stressful
