A 35 year old mum of two boys (11 and 17) has recently escaped domestic violence and now has a temporary DVO in place. After leaving everything behind for safety, she secured a private rental, but the home lacks basic furniture needed to help her children feel settled and secure.
She was studying before the violence and currently survives solely on Single Parenting Payment, with no child support. Despite trauma and financial hardship, this resilient mother remains hopeful and plans to return to work in the new year to rebuild stability for her family.
Right now, they are starting again from scratch. Essential items such as beds, seating and household basics would make a huge difference, helping transform their rental into a warm, supportive home.
