GIVIT
X is a First Nations mother of 5 with the youngest being 5 months old. She had no access to a smartphone or laptop until joining a parenting program. Unfortunately, upon receiving a smartphone so she could practice the DKT it was stolen the same weekend and tracked in a different city.
She currently has no access to a phone and there is no avenue for pursuing legal action due to complicated issues. The only was she can be contacted at this stage is by using her sister’s number however this is risky given she needs to be continually contactable for her children and in emergencies.
Her only source of income is from the parenting payment so saving up is not as easy. She is already a particularly vulnerable person that is being supported in the community by her social worker.
