Across the Mandurah region, we are seeing a significant increase in people experiencing homelessness with no access to safe shelter. With no crisis accommodation available, many people are sleeping rough in parks, bushland, cars and wherever they can find some level of cover, leaving them exposed to the elements.
As warmer weather approaches, the situation is becoming increasingly urgent. Hot days, limited shade, strong winds and a lack of access to water and hygiene facilities place people sleeping rough at increased risk of dehydration, heat-related illness and other health concerns.
We are urgently seeking donations of swags, tarps, lightweight blankets, clothing, socks, hats, sunscreen, water bottles and hygiene items. These basic supplies can make a significant difference to someone experiencing homelessness.
With no emergency accommodation available, community generosity is critical in helping people stay safe, cool and protected throughout the warmer months.
