Single mother of five faces hardship after DV, supporting kids and Nan; needs food, fuel, furniture, and baby essentials.
Domestic & Family Violence
Flooding 2022
2025 Tropical Cyclone Alfred
A devoted single mother is caring for four young children, with a fifth on the way, while also supporting her elderly Nan in an overcrowded home. Three of her children have additional needs, and her youngest regularly travels long distances for NDIS-related medical appointments. After bravely leaving a domestic violence relationship, she is experiencing significant financial hardship but remains focused on providing stability and care for her family. The impact of the 2022 and 2025 floods has added to her challenges, with essential household items repeatedly needing replacement. The family requires support through food and fuel vouchers to ease pressure and ensure access to nutritious meals and essential travel. Furniture vouchers would help replace worn items like a broken lounge and provide a bed for her growing children. A newborn car seat is also urgently needed ahead of her baby’s arrival in July.
