Recipient story

A resilient Aboriginal mother rebuilding her life overcoming trauma, reclaiming strength, and creating a safer future
Other hardship(s)
First Nations Support
Domestic & Family Violence
She is a strong Aboriginal woman whose life has been shaped by experiences beyond her control, including domestic violence that led to financial hardship and periods of homelessness. During this time, she used alcohol and other drugs as a way to stay safe and cope with the realities of street survival.

Her journey led to incarceration, where she made the courageous decision to engage in an AOD therapeutic program. Through this, she has built insight, resilience, and practical skills to support a healthier future. She is also navigating life with an intellectual disability and a mental health diagnosis, demonstrating determination and continued engagement with supports.

Today, she is committed to creating a safe, stable home for herself and her children. With the right support, she can continue this positive path. Donations of essential items will help her rebuild with dignity, safety, and hope for the future.
