Our service has the mission to ensure all children entering out-of-home care receive a suitcase full of new essential belongings to call their own. Let's move from a plastic bag of embarrassment, hurt, shame, fear and insecurity to a suitcase of HOPE.
Children often enter out-of-home care with only a plastic garbage bag of belongings & these bags are then dragged around with them to each placement...sadly for many this will be multiple.
We provided 5427 suitcases to children in 2024 & the demand is growing each year. This year in Victoria we have given out over 1000 suitcases so far with new orders coming in from welfare agencies every week. We need all the items in stock to be able to fill orders for all ages 0000-18.
We pack Pajamas, undies, socks, a singlet, 2 x T Shirts, track pants & tops, a beanie & scarf plus toiletries, a book, an activity, something to cuddle, a blanket, a journal, a colouring book & a toy for each child to give them hope for their future.
