Recipient story

An 18-year-old young person fleeing domestic violence has just moved into a youth refuge and needs support to set themself up
Domestic & Family Violence
Other hardship(s)
This young person has been homeless for the past 18 months after fleeing domestic violence in their family home. They have just moved into their first independent accommodation, where they aim to work toward obtaining a job and building their independence with community support. They are needing brokerage to get set up with clothing (for job interviews) and household goods (bedding, pillows) to assist with a smooth transition.
Because they fled with no items of their own and experienced significant economic barriers whilst homeless, they are needing essential goods such as phone credit and food whilst developing their daily budgeting for rent and basic living costs.
Any community support would be greatly appreciated and significantly impact the trajectory of this young person's future goals for independence.
