12 year girl, relocated away from family, no family support, awaiting transplant

A 12-year-old girl has to leave her home and family to live in a hospital while she waits for a kidney transplant. Being away from everything she knows is scary and lonely, but she knows the transplant could help save her life. In the hospital she meets doctors, nurses, and other patients who try to make her feel safe and cared for. She spends her days doing schoolwork, reading, and talking with her family on the phone, all while hoping the call will come that a kidney is ready for her. Even though the waiting is hard, she tries to stay brave and positive, dreaming about the day she can return home, feel healthy again, and live like other kids her age.
