A 10yo boy in a refuge who has asked for a healthy way to work through big feelings and wind down at night.

A ten-year-old boy is living in a refuge with his mum and baby brother after a period of enormous change — a new country, new schools, and a lot left behind. Through all of it, he has stayed positive, curious, and forward-looking.
He is also remarkably self-aware. He has told the adults around him that having something to expel some energy would help — that it would let him work through frustration, tire himself out, and sleep better at night. That is an extraordinary thing for a child his age to recognise and ask for.
He already trains in karate, and his mum is a black belt. Something he could use at home would give him a healthy outlet whenever he needs one, rather than only in class. It would also be something the two of them could share — a bit of ordinary time together, at a time when ordinary has been in short supply.
He is doing everything right. This would help him keep doing it.
