My client is an older indigenous woman who is a survivor of domestic and family violence within her family. My client lives with constant back pain and migraines which impacts on her quality of life, she suffers with night terrors which impacts on how safe she feels and lives with Chronic PTSD. My client has been prescribed medication for her health issues which is currently not covered under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme which means that she often has to miss out on her basic day to day needs to cover the cost of her medication. My client lives from pay to pay being on a disability pension and does not have a support network to reach out to. My client is often too scared to ask for help, as she feels that this is being a burden on others but is always there if a stranger or someone else needs support.
