Recipient story

Support for a Year 8 student in regional WA whose medical travel disrupts school attendance.
GIVIT
This child cancer survivor is in Year 8 and lives in the Kalgoorlie region. She requires regular long-distance travel to Perth for medical treatment, which results in frequent absences from school and disrupted learning. These interruptions have made it difficult for her to maintain continuity in her classwork and stay connected with her teachers and peers.

An iPad will allow her to access schoolwork while travelling or undergoing treatment, participate in online learning, and communicate with her school during absences. Supported through our education advocacy program, this device will help mitigate the educational impact of treatment-related disruptions and support her ongoing engagement in learning.
