Wheelchair - Electric

Lismore NSW 2480

This participant has been diagnosed with a condition, called FND, which leads to "Drop seizures", where there is no warning of the impending fall. She has suffered injuries from falling and consequently needs to be sitting down at all possible times, and is requesting an electric scooter, that is both portable, and can be driven over bumpy surfaces, as well as in town. The cost as per quote is $4,200.

Recipient story

Flood affected family with outstanding flood damage and financial challenges, and serious health issues.
Flooding 2022
Other hardship(s)
2025 Tropical Cyclone Alfred
This lady and her partner have been living in their damaged and mould affected home since the 2022 floods. What money they had was spent on house repairs and flood cleanup,
They receive pensions, which gives them little chance to make their home safe and livable.
Both are still carrying the memories of their own very traumatising flood experience, where they lost a number of family pets.
They have been very challenged and unable to move ahead and participate in their community.
Neither are able to work due to ongoing various physical and mental health obstacles, that often leave them exhausted and unable to take care of their day to day needs.
A recent diagnosis of FND ( involving “Drop Seizures”) and with 3 recent injuries from falls has meant that an electric scooter is now the only safe mobility option for this lady.
For this couple life has been a huge 4 year challenge, and a scooter would be very supportive.
