Young mum caring for a newborn baby and a two-year-old child. She lives with bipolar disorder and other mental health challenges, alongside a complex trauma history and experiences of family violence during childhood. Her partner lives with significant disabilities, including ADHD, ASD, intellectual impairment and epilepsy. During her pregnancy, the family experienced considerable instability and were required to move house twice before securing their current private rental property. This young person also experienced shingles during pregnancy, which resulted in a lengthy recovery. Their mattress was badly damaged during transit. While the family is now settled in secure housing, they are currently experiencing financial hardship and are awaiting the commencement of newborn supplement payments. Support with essential living expenses would help relieve immediate financial pressure and assist the family to provide for their children's needs during this challenging period.
