In the early hours of 24 April 2026, a devastating house fire tore through a two storey home. Emergency services arrived around 5:30am to find the property fully engulfed in flames. The couple inside, a man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s, narrowly escaped with their lives, fleeing with only the clothes on their backs, their phones, and a single set of keys.
In recent months, the household had already been under financial strain, with the husband out of work and insurance no longer in place. This has left them with no safety net and no means to recover from such a catastrophic loss.
They have lost everything. Furniture, clothing, personal belongings, and the sense of security that comes with having a home. They are now starting again from nothing and urgently need support to rebuild their lives.
