Our college is a 100% Aboriginal school located in the desert, and we are seeking water support for our students
GIVIT
We would like to appeal for cool, cold-water in either bottled, coolers or other supply vessels, please.
We supply the students with bottled water and have a water cooler in the dining hall, but this is but a small sample to alleviate the shortage. We are still hampered with the warm running water from the outside taps including the drinking water in the boarding houses especially during academic days.
In desert and hot remote environments, lack of safe drinking water or excessively hot tap water poses serious risks to school students. Consequences include dehydration, heat stress, burns, poor hygiene, and increased illness. These conditions negatively affect students’ concentration, behaviour, attendance, and learning outcomes, while also impacting emotional wellbeing and sense of safety, particularly for boarding students.
We believe that our gifted students are deserving of the best and water is a right. Therefore, we would appreciate any support we can get. Thank You!
