For young people experiencing homelessness, the cost of living can make everyday life incredibly challenging. Many are living away from family, have limited support networks and are navigating adulthood without the safety net that others may take for granted.
Our young people are working hard to build brighter futures through education, training and employment. However, the cost of getting from one place to another can become a real barrier. Attending TAFE, getting to work, attending job interviews and completing work placements all rely on having access to transport.
With limited financial resources, fuel costs can mean missing out on opportunities or struggling to maintain education and employment commitments.
Access to fuel vouchers would help ease some of this pressure and give young people greater freedom to pursue their goals. It's about removing practical barriers, supporting independence and helping young people stay connected to the opportunities that will shape their future
