These two siblings live at home with their Mum, who is trying her best to support the family and meet the siblings ongoing needs on a single income. The family are facing long-term and ongoing financial hardship, which has resulted in neither of the siblings having a device for school. This in turn has significantly impacted on their engagement at school and their learning, as they are both unable to do homework or assessments at home.
The siblings are in year 7 and 9, and are both hard working young people, who would be able to engage in their education and learning more holistically with financial support to purchase a laptop.
