After escaping family violence, a mum and her young son need support to make their transitional housing into a welcoming home

This mum and her 5-year-old son have experienced significant family violence and have shown immense courage in leaving an unsafe situation to protect their wellbeing. After a long period of instability and trauma, they are now living in transitional housing as they begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.

While this has provided short-term safety, the home is not yet a place where they fully feel secure, settled, or able to heal. For a young child who has already experienced disruption and fear, having a space that feels calm, safe, and predictable is incredibly important.

This family is at a critical point in their recovery. With the right support, their current housing can become a place of comfort and safety rather than just a temporary shelter. Assistance at this time will help reduce ongoing stress and support both mum
