First Nations Support
A First Nations woman aged 54+ has recently been offered a permanent tenancy after experiencing chronic homelessness for more than two years. During this period, she has been living in a tent and has had no opportunity to establish a safe or stable home environment.
The participant has also recently received a terminal illness diagnosis, making this tenancy a particularly significant and timely opportunity to provide comfort, stability, dignity, and support during an extremely challenging stage of her life. She is highly receptive to support and is committed to engaging with services to maintain her tenancy and coordinate her ongoing medical care.
As she is transitioning directly from homelessness into housing, she currently has no household items, furniture, or essential appliances.
