This young single mother is the sole provider for her 2-year-old son and resides in social housing. Her current housing is very unsafe as people residing nearby have verbally abused her, stolen her mail, damaged her car and stolen her clothes of the washing line. She has also recently lost her job due to being afraid to access her car and therefore, was unable to regularly attend shifts. These circumstances are compounding and impacting her ability to pay for her electricity bill as she needs to use the dryer to dry her clothes. With ongoing financial stressors this mother is vulnerable to experiencing a significant impact of her mental health.
Despite this, this young mother is proactively looking for new employment and wants to return to school to become a nurse. This young mother is also actively taking steps to obtain safe and secure housing for her family but in the meantime requires material aid to ease the stress of her current situation.
