Child lives with a severe genetic condition that causes extremely fragile bones, placing her at constant risk of fractures, even during routine handling and daily care. She has already experienced multiple fractures and repeated hospitalisations, which have significantly impacted her physical development, mobility, and ability to safely explore her environment. She requires full assistance with all daily living tasks, including feeding, positioning, hygiene, and comfort.
Due to her condition, she is unable to sit or move independently without significant risk and has very limited opportunities to engage in typical childhood experiences such as play, social interaction, and attending appointments safely. Her family currently relies on carrying her or using basic methods, which increases the risk of injury to both the child and her carers.
The family also faces ongoing challenges navigating complex systems with limited supports, further impacting their ability to meet her needs.
