This lovely older couple have been experiencing extreme mental anguish. They lost everything in the 2022 weather event and then as they had no insurance they spent all of their super to rebuild their house. They have applied for a buy back but were refused even after having to sit on their roof and be rescued. The wife has a visual disability and can't swim which after going through the weather event has now given her severe PTSD and Depression. They have chosen to sell their house to try and alleviate some of the stress they go through on a daily basis, and also every time it rains. They have just sold their house for well under value due to it being in the flood area, but they had to accept the offer for sake of the wife and her mental health .
They have no savings left as they are both pensioners and are struggling with the cost of moving and we are hoping to get some assistance with the cost of a removalist.
