My client lives in a rural area and experiences severe schizophrenia, significantly impacting their ability to work, participate in the community, and manage daily tasks independently. Recent family hardship, including their father's diagnosis of a chronic illness and extended hospitalisation, has placed considerable emotional and financial strain on the family.
The client's father previously assisted with appointments, shopping, and other important life administration tasks but can no longer provide the same level of support. The client has been actively building their independence; however, their 11-year-old laptop is no longer functional.
A replacement laptop would enable the client to access online services, manage appointments, complete online shopping, communicate with supports, attend telehealth appointments, and maintain social connections. Due to financial hardship, purchasing a replacement device is not possible. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
